"As I recall this was in 1963 when the new school was occupied but the old school had not yet been demolished. Some scallywags regularly broke into the old school and rooted round...getting into places that had probably been sealed off for years, like


attics and towers.

 I recall the circulation of details of teacher Mr Walker's school life, when he had been a pupil of the school some 15 years or so earlier.
No doubt, during these archival retrieval escapades a way into the main bell tower was found and an effigy of the headmaster was strung up from the outside of the tower, for all to see
The story made the Chronicle".

 Does anyone have a copy of the article? Is any one out there willing to admit to being there?
